He said the online meeting will focus on developments related to the July 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He noted that the meeting will not focus on a specific issue but discuss the latest JCPOA developments in recent months.
Iran will not renegotiate the JCPOA, said the spokesman at his online weekly press briefing, stressing that the deal has already been discussed, signed and finalized, Khatibzadeh added, noticing that the Resolution 2231 is also clear.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has already made it clear that the JCPOA is a legal agreement reached between Iran and six world powers, and the deal had been confirmed by the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, Khatibzadeh underlined, stressing that it would be impossible to open doors of talks about the deal again.
Iran has its own defense priorities and takes action based on them, the spokesman stressed.
On December 16, a meeting of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA was held virtually with the participation of Iran and the remaining members of the deal- UK, France, Russia, China and Germany.
United States which along with five others signed the JCPOA on July 14, 2015, left the landmark international deal in May, 2018.
*** Crash of Ukraine passenger plane
He noted that "a review of the case of January 8 crash of the Ukrainian passenger plane on Iran's airspace has not been postponed; rather the technical report on the issue will be released within today or tomorrow."
Ukraine's passenger plane was attacked as it moved very close to a sensitive military spot belonging to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) after taking off from Iran's Imam Khomeini International Airport, west of Tehran last year.
*** Canada cooperation in not delivering medicine to Iran
Elsewhere in his remarks, the spokesman warned "Canada to be responsible for its action as Ottawa has had the greatest cooperation with the White House in blocking delivery of medicine to the Iranian nation.
Iran invites the Canadian foreign minister and government to understand the diplomatic language; rather, they would receive a different response, he said.
*** Iran attaches importance to its neighbors
Two days ago, Rimdan-Gabd border crossing was officially inaugurated in the presence of Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami, Pakistani minister of defense production and other officials, he said.
Khatibzadeh described such an inauguration as a great event after the launch of Khaf-Heart railroad project between Iran and Afghanistan; and said these measures indicate how much Iran attaches importance to the neighbors.
The Rimdan-Gabd border crossing is the best route that gives Iran access to 37 percent of the global population in China, Pakistan and India.
*** Travel of Petroleum Minister to Russia
On the ongoing visit of the Iranian oil minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh to Moscow, he said the exchange of visits between countries is normal as Iran tries to guarantee its share [in oil market] and fulfill its rights.
*** Iran-IAEA relations
The technical framework in relations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) should be preserved.
Iran advises the IAEA to keep itself far from the political pressures.
*** Iranian national in Gaza
There is a basic principle that if he wants to return to his homeland, first he should prove that he is an Iranian.
Consular formalities are clear, and Iran has no limitation to receive [his] passport.
*** Jake Sullivan's remarks
The US is the blatant breaker of international commitments, if Biden’s choice for security adviser, Jake Sullivan, talks of US conditions for returning to the deal [from which Washington withdrew unilaterally in 2018], it should prove it in practice.
Iran will return to its commitments whenever the other side does so.
*** Europe's black record in the human rights issue
The release of unilateral statements against Iran does not worth it because Europe has never had a good record in the issue of human rights.
Europe did not make effort to condemn the US and its followers for their anti-human rights measures against Iran.
*** Europeans not capable of being loyal to their commitments
At the end of his press conference, the spokesman talked of Europe's move to call off its economic session after the execution of Rouhollah Zam in Iran and said German and French ambassadors to Tehran were summoned to Foreign Ministry over their meddlesome remarks.
Iran has repeatedly cautioned against their double-standard remarks and stated that it does not accept them.
Iran has recently executed Rouhollah Zam, administrator of the counterrevolution website.
Zam had been convicted of corruption on the earth.
